Backplanes
Passive backplanes connect Industrial Single Board Computers to other plug-in cards in a system.
A typical example of a backplane is the AP-PSL14 shown below. This backplane has 2 PICMG slots for full-size Industrial PC cards, 8 standard ISA slots, and 4 PCI slots.
Backplanes come in a variety of sizes and configurations. Split Backplanes permit two or more independent computers to be built into one chassis.
