Industrial CPU Cards
Industrial CPU cards - as opposed to motherboards - provide the primary CPU functions on a card that is plugged into a passive backplane. The card shown above is a full-size Socket-7 CPU card with support for either SIMMs or DIMMs.
The principal difficulty in selecting a Pentium 2, 3, or 4 CPU card is determining potential interferences because the processor and processor cooling system extend away from the card more than typical components. Most P2/P3 CPU cards use parallel CPU mounting (the CPU is parallel to the card) to minimize the problem and to provide better physical support for the processor. The mounting of the processor varies from card to card as to whether it is on the component side of the card or the solder side of the card.
CPU cards change on what seems like a daily basis. Micro-Link has provided Industrial CPU cards from 386 cards right up to the latest Pentium 4 based CPU cards. If you don't see what you need here, call us for information on the newest products.
