Brian Auger and Paul McCartney

I’m going to see Brian Auger tonight at the Jazz Kitchen in Indianapolis. It should be a cool show. If you go to Brian Auger’s site, listen to some of the music in the flash player on the right side of the page. Tracks 2, 3, and 7 are pretty good.

New Asym Site

July 19th, 2006 by Rory

I just finished re-designing the Asym (Grade440) website. It was a lot of fun and now we have a website that isn’t so-four-months-ago. We’ll be moving it to a new URL in the next few days.

GameSetInterview: Halo Screenwriter DB Weiss

Given the content of his book, Lucky Wander Boy, I think it is absolutely hilarious that Weiss is writing the screenplay for Halo — a game that means so much to Adam Pennymans all over the world. As noted in the interview, Weiss once said:

“Far more work went into the LWB screenplay excerpt than any other section of the book, except possibly the end. I think someone ought to hire me to write terrible, techno-mystical action screenplays. I think I have a knack.”

Weiss could easily bring his multi-ending story style to the big screen in the Halo movie that would leave jaws dropped to the floor. In between each ending we’d (Halo gamers) would hear the anticipatory beeps before a respawn, which would remind us a new ending is on its way. If you’d like to know what the hell I’m talking about, read Lucky Wander Boy.

Pet Shop Boys + K.K. Slider?!

Are the Pet Shop Boys secret Nintendo fans? – (link goes to Discopop Directory)

Animal Crossing‘s own K.K. Slider seems to be a featured artist on the latest Pet Shop Boys album. I hope this doesn’t mean that dear old Slider is selling out to the man. You know, those industry fat cats are always trying to put a price on his music — music that wants to be free.

Pet Shop Boys – Minimal

K.K. Slider performing live at The Roost coffee shop

When he’s not jamming with the PSB you can still catch Slider every Saturday night at The Roost (located inside Blather’s Museum). He’ll take requests and hook you up with bootlegs after the show!

Incredible Organ Performance

Video Game Music on the Organ

The Super Mario World stuff at the beginning is very well done. “Rain” from Cowboy Bebop ain’t half bad either.
