I’ve been playing Resident Evil 4 lately and man is that game difficult. It is definitely rewarding if you’re one to accept rewards in the form of pissing your pants in fear or having a heart attack. Capcom took what was great about the previous RE games and added some new stuff to make the experience even better. I read somewhere that they are already working on a followup title, which should be awesome.

Another great game I’ve been playing is Gish. The artwork is wonderful even though the style isn’t all that original. The game is sort of a cross between a puzzle and a platformer in that you are constantly trying to figure out which state you need to be in to get through the level. I think the game is a lot more difficult than a Mario or Sonic type game because I’ve found myself spending more time trying to get out of a level rather than actually doing so. The developers sell the game on the site I linked to above, but there’s also a demo available. The game won the Seamus McNally Award this year at the IGF and definitely deserved it. Check it out if you get a chance.
