The Micro-Link VME202 is a 3U VMEbus single board computer. The simple and efficient design makes wide use of CMOS devices which minimizes power consumption and heat generation.
VME202 on-board facilities include a 16 MHz 68HC000 CPU, three pairs of 32 pin JEDEC sockets which provide up to 2 MByte EPROM and 2 MByte SRAM, eight RS-232 asynchronous serial channels and four 16 bit interrupt timers. A calendar clock and watchdog timer are also available.
The SRAM memory and calendar clock may be battery backed, with on-board power up and power fail circuitry ensuring reliable operation.
The front panel includes reset and abort switches and CPU run and software controlled LED indicators.
VMEbus operations include a full Slot One controller with system reset, single-level bus arbiter, system clock driver, interrupt daisy chain driver, and bus activity watchdog. The CPU may access VMEbus memory and I/O cards with A24:D16 and A16:D16 operations.
A 15 source interrupt controller prioritizes up to 7 VMEbus interrupts plus ACFAIL and SYSFAIL, the abort switch, four OCTART serial/timer interrupts, and one clock interrupt. Vectored and auto-vectored interrupt responses are available.
The VME202 is compatible with Micro-Link's expanding family of 3U VMEbus cards, including 16 and 32 bit SBC's, serial and network communications, mass storage, digital and analog industrial I/O cards. Hardware and software are available for multiprocessor VMEbus applications, file management, and for Ethernet and other communication applications.
Micro-Link provides extensive software and integration support for all of these cards.
Micro-Link's own MICRObug II monitor/debugger, and Software Development System's CrossCode® C system provide a development platform for simpler embedded applications. Other popular real-time operating systems are also supported.
The Micro-Link's Application and Systems Support Group offers disk-based development systems as well as disk-based and diskless target systems. Target systems are configured and pre-integrated to suit each and every requirement.
