The Micro-Link VME203 is a 3U VMEbus single board computer. The card makes wide use of CMOS circuits which minimize power consumption and heat generation.
On-board facilities include a 32 bit 68030 processor, 68882 floating point coprocessor, 1 or 4 MByte of 32 bit wide DRAM, up to 1 MByte EPROM. Two RS-232 asynchronous serial channels are available with one 16 bit interrupt timer. A watchdog timer is also included.
The 68030 includes separate 256 byte caches for code and data. The DRAM subsystem supports fast 16 byte cache burst filling, thus maximizing the 68030 performance. Caching is inhibited for all VMEbus operations, ensuring data coherency.
The CPU may access VMEbus memory and I/O cards with A24:D16 and A16:D16 operations. Both 8 and 16 bit VMEbus transfers are supported. Automatic bus sizing converts 24 and 32 bit CPU operations to consecutive 8 and 16 bit VMEbus transfers.
Power up and power fail circuitry ensures reliable operation. The front panel includes reset and abort switches and CPU run and software controlled LED indicators.
VMEbus operations include a Slot One controller with system reset, single level bus arbiter, system clock driver, interrupt daisy chain driver, and bus activity watchdog.
The VME203 is an addition to Micro-Link's family of 3U VMEbus cards. These include the VME201, VME202 16 bit SBC's, and other industrial and system I/O cards. Hardware and software is available for multiprocessor VMEbus applications and for Ethernet and other communications requirements.
Micro-Link provides extensive software and integration support for all of these cards including MACRObug II monitor/debugger and Software Development System's CrossCode® C system.
These tools facilitate the development of embedded real-time applications, stand alone integrated systems, and distributed control and acquisition networks.
The Micro-Link Application and Systems Support Group offers disk-based development systems as well as disk-based and diskless target systems. Target systems are configured and pre-integrated to suit each and every application.
